INHARMONY’S EMAHO DRALA (Moonlight’s Geoffrey Rinpoche CGN x Inharmony’s Sweet Clarissa) December 28, 1999 - June 17, 2013 OFA # AM11000G30M-P1 ChD # AMCA11,733 Eyes Normal Drala’s Tibetan name translates into "Delightful Magic" – which he is. Another meaning is 'without aggression' which fits him incredibly well.He is a very loving boy who enjoys learning. When Drala is learning new things, he literally "talks through" new lessons until he understands them. He has learned the exercises in Rally and basic obedience, but hasn’t got the confidence level to be successful in trial situations. He does, however, excel in harness work. Drala is the most reliable and steadiest worker that I’ve had the pleasure to work. He is very enthusiastic in harness – which can be a challenge when we encounter deer along our travels! Drala is a very playful male and often instigates group games. Fortunately, he didn't teach the others how to get up on the roof of the old kennel set-up. (photo below left)

Drala frequently starts the songs at Inharmony. Drala and Zhouma are often overlooked as they are the quietest ones here but they are extra special in that they get along with everyone and have wonderul work ethics. Almost 11 yrs old, I know that Drala is more than eager to get running on the trails this winter.
November 16, 2010. Almost 11 yrs old.
Jan. 2011. 11 yrs
Summer, 2011. 11 1/2 yrs. Drala shows his powerful movement that he has used in harness for many years.
March 2012. Drala doesn't look nor act like his 12 years and 3 months of age.
Dec. 2012. 13 yr old Drala still has the powerful drive and reach he used so effectively in harness. Just picture a sled behind him!
With great sorrow, my sweet boy Inharmony's Emaho Drala has crossed the Rainbow Bridge on June 17, 2013. Drala suddenly had an incurable medical problem that precipitated this sad event. My neighbor told me that after we left Inharmony, the pack sang ever so mournfully for over 30 minutes….Their songs usually only last a couple of minutes. Drala was an extremely easy to live with dog. He got along with everyone - people or dogs. A quiet gentleman - when he wasn't leading the choir - he was the epitome of the reliable strong working dog. Drala worked in harness his whole life… first with his parents (Geoffrey and Clarissa) and litter sister, Sila and later as an extremely reliable wheel dog on my special team of four that featured Geoffrey co-leading with Dorje and Zhouma, Drala's daughter. Their record of 60 runs in a season (averaging around 8 miles/run) has yet to be surpassed. This was done in the winter of 2009 to 2010 with 3 so called 'elderly' dogs. Drala's unexpected and sudden illness was a complete shock. At 13 ˝ years of age, he did not look nor act his age and was still in remarkable and fit condition. He could still float across the yard with an amazing ground covering and effortless trot. My 'Delightful Magic' is, and will always be, missed. He is a very special being. |
