Fall 2007 . With the new fencing, the Malamutes can once again play beside the horses and we can go out on the trails at any time. For the fall work, I use the non-restrictive harnesses that I make instead of the freighting harnesses. These l ightwei ght but sturdy harnesses are suitable for the lighter work (thanks to the rolling weight) and with the lines hitched behind the dogs' shoulders, a direct line of pull is created from the attachment to the bicycle or push scooter that I use. Another bonus is that these harnesses are easily cleaned - which is a consideration with the very muddy trails at this time of year. It's always very noisy when the harnesses come out - the Malamutes love going for the runs. The pictures below were taken at the first run of the season. It was also Justin's first time in harness - and he didn't disappoint at all!
