WOVEN SEED BEAD BRACELETS

Czech Seed Beads are used in the weaving of these bracelets. They are considerably more time consuming than putting together a simply strung semi-precious bracelet!

Square Stitch Bracelets

The Square Stitch is a non-loomed bead woven stitch that has the identical lay of beads to loom work.  Bracelets woven in this stitch are done with size 8 beads - the same as with the Herringbone Bracelets shown above. However, because the beads sit 90 degrees differently than the Herringbone stitch, there are more beads/inch.This makes a smoother bracelet as the beads are lie flatter.

For these bracelets, I have used the patterns from Loom Weaves.1 for the 3/4 inch weave (for size 10 beads). As the size 8 beads are slightly larger, the weave is 1 inch in width.  The patterns for the herringbone bracelets (above) can be used for a slightly narrower bracelet or can be modified to have an inch width.  Again, these do take quite a bit of time to weave as each bead has a minimum of 2 passes of thread through it.....which results in 1 square inch taking 60 minutes to weave.

Any of these woven seed bead bracelets sell for $25 each. They average 8 hours to design and make. If sterling silver findings (clasps) are requested, please add $7.00 to the cost of the individual bracelet.

I have done three types of off-loom weaving in bracelets: Right Angle, Herringbone, and Square stitch. The beads lie differently in each stitch.  The Right Angle can be made in various widths while the Herringbone and Square Stitch make a comfortable 1" wide bracelet.

Samplers / patterns for Herringbone Brracelets can be reached on the Loom Weave Patterns 2 page. Square stitch patterns can be chosen from the Loom Weave Patterns.1 page from the 3/4" selection.

Braided Square Stitch Bracelets
These bracelets combine braiding and the square stitch technique. Any color available can be used. For these samples, which are light and comfortable, I did a color on the outside of the strands, color on the inside of the strands and a solid color .
