My gratitude for being able to add Maia into my pack is boundless. When my first breeding program had to be stopped, Maia was the only dog without the questionable lineages. This in turn led to her becoming my foundation bitch of the second program. Maia's legacy is solid through her progeny … to the third generation when she passed. She was a wonderful mother and teacher to her pups and grandpups which, fortunately, was recorded with the 2010 family for Happy Dogs with Benevolent Leaders. She was all about manners which Pema and Kadence have continued, in turn, with their pups. Her pups inherited her athletic ability and her sweet nature. While Maia never worked in harness, her pups and grandpups, have been/are incredible working dogs. Zhouma worked for 10 years with her father Drala and grandfather Geoffrey. My current team is composed of Justin (sire of her last family), Pema, and Pema's daughters Kadence and Molly. Next year, the great-grandpups Oliver and Bella will probably join the team. Last winter we were joined by Candice's small team of Ahkila (Maia's daughter) and Kain (Pema's son) and they more than kept up with the larger team.

At Inharmony, she leaves her daughters Zhouma and Pema, granddaughters Kadence and Molly, and great-grandpups Oliver and Bella……and a big empty spot in my life. Maia is important to me not just because of her reproductive accomplishments, but because she became an “Anchor” for me in a long line of very special ladies who have helped me through stressful times. She was a very special, trustworthy, and loved housegirl. Maia - affectionately known to her friends as “Mai-Mai” is, and will always be, honored and missed.
